I brand new to Marklin Z. I have S+E up and running. I think I've figured out most of the not-so-helpful illustrations (although they don't show how to wire everything back to the power source), but I can't quite figure out what the sockets are for. I used the pins, of course, to connect the electric turnouts, but what use are the sockets (as opposed to the pins)?

I'm sure I have plenty more questions later...thanks

Hi Jerry,

I am not quite sure what you are referring to, is it the distribution strip https://www.maerklinshop...51457/distribution-strip ?

I dont have Marklin Z but all I know is that pins go into sockets. In many cases eg lighting houses sockets are not required.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.
