I have a Märklin 4219 BLS passenger car. I need to replace one of the trucks. I have an identical spare from another car, but how do I get the old truck out?? It has a split, pivot pin that goes through the floor with ridges on the inside of the car to keep it in place.

Any ideas on how to remove it?. I could cut it off the BLS car, but I need to remove it undamaged from the car with a replacement.

I have tried several things with pliers, small surgical clamps, etc. with no success.

Is there a trick??

I don't know the specific coach in detail but it will be like many others.

If you could add a couple of photos we'll soon figure it out

If you disassemble the coach then you can get access from the inside to squeeze the halfs together.

That is what I have been unsuccessfully trying. But I can't get the center, split pivot to go out.

I know what you mean. Those coaches seem so delicate. Get some fine narrow nosed pliers and squeeze the 2 parts of the spigot together and push [of course, after you have removed the upper body ]. Once they are closed together and partially through the hole, they should pull out. Patience and care.

What coach are you taking it from? If it is from a similar EWIV coach (SBB or BLS), why not swap the entire undercarriage?

To remove the bogie, you need to press the two clips together using pliers and then simultaneously while they are pressed in, you need to pull the bogie out from the chassis.
