Hi everybody!

First of all, I hope all of you would be very good.

Now, let me do a question. I hope someone could help me.

I have just had a diesel locomotive with a sound decoder. A DB V 200 diesel locomotive. It has the following sounds (between others):
- Operating sounds
- Blower
- Compressor
- Letting off compressed air
- Squealing brakes on and off
- Conductor whistle

My problem is that I do not know when I must use these sounds in a real mode. If when starting the diesel motor; when it begins tu run, during the run, when it is braking, and so on.

I suppose, for example, that the operating sounds sould be on when the locomotive is running. But, when I switch on the blower? And when is the compressed air letting off? Which does it mean the squealing brakes on and off? And so on with all the sounds.

I would be very pleased if someone could help me about when it should be every sound switch on and off.

Thank you very much in advance. And for everybody, the most of the health! Be care of yourselves!

Francisco

Hi Fransisco, just read your question and i think that you just use one's imagination to use the different sounds when you like.
I guess playing with trains is to use your imagination,as i do haha..
take care and have fun!

Hi Francisco

As Stiewie wrote, it is up to your imagination.
Here is my view:
- Operating sounds: ON all the time except when the train is at the garage
- Blower: random
- Compressor: ON just before departure from the station
- Letting off compressed air: at the station after the stop
- Squealing brakes on and off: OFF all the time to let the squealing sound to operate
- Conductor whistle: ON for a little while when leaving the station

All this is fun to do manually but in my case, it is done by Rocrail with a lot of other things:
- turn OFF the sound, smoke and lights when at the shed, and ON when leaving it.
- turn OFF the smoke when entering a tunnel or being at the shed and ON when exiting
- lower the coal reserve in the tender before approaching the steam depot & coal bunker
- short whistle when changing directions or when driving the TELEX coupler

All this with Rocrail leads to standardize the fonctions like:
- smoke F1
- operating sound F2
- Long whistle F3
- Conductor whistle Fx
- etc
This allows to simplify all the orders from Rocrail
Enjoy the digital fun
Jean
