Hi
I bought some c track Trix to run some old DC trains.

I’m just puzzled how and where to connect the power wires from the transformer as I can only find one clip underneath (as opposed to two clips no Marklin c track).

Apologies for this basic topic but I couldn’t find any online info.

Regards
J

Can I ask a basic question? Is there a spade connector on the opposite end of the piece of track, connected to the other rail? If there is, then you have your 2 connections.

Hi J,
As PMPeter has explained, the spade at one end of the Trix C track is for left hand rail.
The spade at the other end is for the right hand rail.
So you have one rail for (-) and one for (+).

Trix C track is very versatile, and works well with any of my 2 rail DC analogue or digital, including some dating from the 1960s.

I'm not familiar with Trix C-track, but why is the metal strip crosing the midline, and almost touching the connector of the opposite track?
It looks like the original Märklin part, with the connecting bridge cut by hand

Hi
Thank you all for your inputs. Indeed there are two connectors, one on each side and it’s super simple to use.

My main doubt was that both are marked “O” and I assumed it was the same pole, as they seem connected at first sight, so wanted to avoid short circuits.

After a closer inspection, you can see that they are not connected. Marklin used the same mould as Marklin C track, so the “B” and “O” are printed, even the “Marklin” brand is printed as well as the “172” - in Marklin the reference is 24172 and in Trix is 62172. I post a couple of pictures for you to see.

I’m very happy with this track to use with old DC analogue trains. I started to assembly a Small floor layout to see how it goes and now I’m considering adding a small oval track in my Marklin layout project to have all trains running.

Regards

Hi Bart,
That is a very good observation.
I have inspected the connections on my TRIX C track very closely.
You need a magnifying glass.
The separation of the sheet metal pressings for the left/right rails is less than 1mm.

The exact same sheet metal pressing is used in one whole on the Märklin C track for the O circuit ground (the original Märklin part).
As you suggest, separation for TRIX C track has been achieved by cutting at a designed point of bent up vertical pressing alongside a small plastic extrusion.
Then to complete the separation, the pressing tab that remains on one side is simply pushed back alongside the plastic extrusion.
This evidence of this process is more obvious on some pieces than others, and probably depends on the person doing it.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
