Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased a lot of Marklin Locos which included an E141. I should have known it is not Marklin, and after receiving and a some inspections and I know it is a Benecken E141. There is nothing wrong with the engine. Few, very minor cosmetic issues.

Reason I am writing here is to ask if there is anyone here with Benecken locos. Are there any special tips for maintaining these engines? Does the direct axle drive require any special attention?

Also, it has a digital motor decoder (no sound) and I can't tell what make is this. I can see that there are some unused outputs, maybe I can wire them for a cab light?

Furthermore, I would design a 3D printable cab details for this engine? I was googling "E141 Führerstände", but that did not result any useful photos? Do you happen to know any cab interior photos of this engine? Am I assuming correctly, that in this livery it is a refurbished engine?

And there are some photos:

Hi,

Try this: https://www.google.com/s...amp;biw=1920&bih=926

Yes, this colour - scheme was used from 1975. The first E41 ( until #71) came in blue from the factory, the later ones in green.

Regards

Markus

Thanks for the help above. I finished my cab details. I tried my best to design a cab which can be fitted over the factory headlight mount and something that easily fits within the internal support. I have no driver figure, so that is missing and also left the sides unfinished, that still shows the factory chassis and the fiberglass layers visible inside.

It is not fully prototypical, especially the back wall of the cab, but I had no pictures of this area, and I also wanted it to find within the internal supports on the logo. It was already quite hard to find the dashboard over and around the existing headlight mount which I did not want to replace. I also did not model the speedometer on a separate post.
I also added some mounting positions for seats in the floor, but I did not want to complicate the assembly. It was already quite difficult to fit everything which would have been more complicated with the seats in the way.

These are the two dashboards and the back wall of the cab

The loco has a ESU LokPilot v1 decoder which has two empty accessory outputs. So I added a SMD5050 led for cab light. I used a 1.8k resistor, so it is really toned down.

The two cads fitted. I added a shallow slot under the floor for the cables to go through

Finished cab from the front window

And from the side window

Lights on.

For those who happen to have the exact same model, the 3D files are available online: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4237115

If anyone has more info on this model and Benecken, please let me know.
