I have an ESU LokPilot that has disintegrated. My local DCC doesnt stock non sound LokPilot decoders that support Marklin formats. I know that i can use DCC but this is to go into a Markln lok so...
I am looking at 60906. Is this a good one or is there something else . I don’t wont sound.

Did you know you've got a 3 year warranty with your ESU decoders, regardless whether its your own fault ruining it, take it back to your dealer.

Good point is to keep on ESU.
What digital system do you use?

I have an ECoS but this is the only lok I have with a LokPilot. I had a BR78 with a LokSoud that I sold and the decoder failed on arrival. I did get that one replaced. I know that I am spending money that I needn't but I am still inclined to go Marklin as it is a Marklin original AC that I am turning into digital.

Okey...you have to watch at maerklin.de and check after decoder.
You can download decoders manual too and read what you can do and have possible to change and use decoder.
Ecos can handle with DCC, MM or M4 if you like to use.
However i recommended you use only one protocol.

The 60760 decoder is a simple and effective decoder without to much fuss.

The 60906 doesn't allow motors with permanent magnets, so you must use the origina series motor. It is ok as long as you don't want load regulation. I think it will be an easy instalation. It is an mfx decoder, so you have automatic registration. It also has more function outputs.

The 60760 is made for permanent magnet motors and the kit brings a permanent magnet. It is not mfx, so you have to configure the address in the Ecos.

Mostly Märklin H0.

This brand new decoder from Maerklin 60906 would be a good choice. But it depends on the motor in your loco. This decoder 60906 Maerklin considers for AC/DC / field coil motors

The equivalent for built-in high-efficiency motors (HLA) is the decoder Maerklin 60972 mLD3 (without sound).

More detailed information in the manuals for these decoders.
CS 3 is a controlling station from Märklin - not a central station.

As it had a Lokpilot decoder, then it will have the high efficiency motor conversion, so one of the mLD3 decoders would be the way to go if you want a marklin decoder.
