Today we had our Trix Express club day, a special Sinterklaas and black pete edition.
With many small exhibition layouts and lots of Trix Express for sale, as well as spare parts and such.

Great fun !!

I bought a lot of 3 pre-war controllers and a few bags of replika parts and an oiginal brushholder I was after.

(the guy with yellow glasses and black Herrington jacket is me … )

Marco

Wow.
Thanks for sharing.
That is a significant following in a country with 17 million people.
I make that surmise on the basis of the numbers of people, and range of spare parts available.
Would there be visitors from neighbouring countries?

Irrespective of the population it is a really good showing for a product that has essentially been out of production for many years.

Yes, there were a few visitors from Germany and I also heard some English speaking visitors.

I'm also active on German forums, and there I was told that the Trix Express community in Holland is much larger than in Germany, I find that quite remarkable.

The Trix Express club is the largest MRR club here in Holland, I don't know the exact numbers at this moment, but more than 600 paying member.

The club is very well organized and managed, with a glossy Trix Express club magazine (printed on nice thick shiny A4-paper) that is always a good read.
The contribution is only € 15 a year and you get a lot for that, free entrance to the club days (a ticket cost € 5 for non members), a club magazine 6 times a year and free repairs of locos and rolling stock on special repair days that are organized twice a year.

I guess there are far more Marklin users in Holland than Trix Express, but they're not that well organized als the Trix Express devotees.
I fact, in 2012 I was looking for a Marklin club here in Holland that I could join, but there was not any.

I see what you mean, most visitors are indeed well over 60, but that's not just a Trix Express 'problem'.
You see that at all mrr events.
