The several steam locomotives in 1:1 with tender drive much slower backwards.

On a CS3+ with a MFX you can set max. speed applicable for both directions, but is there an option to set a slower max. backward speed on CS3 ?
Best regards

Many decoders have such a setting. For mfx decoders you should be able to change this setting using the CS3.
See CV 66 Forward trim and CV 95 Backward trim. It should be enough to reduce the setting for CV 95.

Sorry

I should have written a long time ago, that on Wednesday there will be a model train friend i the house, and then we will look at the matter, and try it out.
Then there will also come some more news.
Best regards

The day in the "play" room is gone ...............

And it went not well.

My friend had tried it, before he came, and he had a good result by attacking the loc. by DCC on his CS3, and that was the way he could open CV95 and change the settings.

But my CS3 could not do this way, so it is only his steam loc's, there can run slow backwards

I have also asked Märklin, and here is their answer:

We have no model in our assortment, where you can change the maximum speed over CV 95. The CV 5 is the only right register to change it.

So it had to be tried in the near future, so I will come back later

I'm tempted to try this with a 2005 Märklin mfx loco. I'm optimistic it will work.
Maybe it will even work with a 2018 Märklin mfx loco, but I'm a bit less optimistic about that.
CV 95 is documented in the manual for the 60942 decoder and sometimes Märklin decoders work as documented.
Do not believe everything you get in response from Märklin support.
