I have finally got to the point of wiring up the turnouts on my layout and find to my horror that the control boxes I have accumulated from ebay over time are all the old 7272 & 7072 ones which I gather need 2.6mm plugs and sockets which Maerklin discontinued ages ago.
I have found that the current socket type for the newer controllers will work as the plug on 7272 controller . But that leaves me need in input plugs for the power side. Has anyone a suggestion as to how to get round this problem?

They are readily available used/new on eBay.de. As far as I know Brawa still makes them as well.

Maerklin still offers these control boxes.

Indeed as @PMPeter mentioned they are available at eBay

Viessmann also offer the old style plugs and sockets.
