Hello

I have decided that my huge collection of German/Austrian E94/194 deserve new homes. While sorting out I came across this. Does anyone have any information about this variant?

Thanks
Adrian

It is the so called "Eisenschwein" (iron pig) in a special edition. Was the model E 94 from the DR in East Germany. Here some information about the Eisenschwein with a different number 254 069-8.

Hi Adrian,

I have a lot of E94s, too, but I haven't seen that special one before. I have some other special versions, and I have other loco types with "Sonderfahrt" on them.

It would appear to be a model of a loco used for a special train, one where they sold Märklin wagons. But I can't find any details of such a train, and I can't spot a wagon that looks as though it was made for such an excursion!

Can you tell the manufacturing date of the loco? That (DDR) version was only made for about six years (1993-1998), and I think they had quite a lot of them in (surplus) stock, as it was used for the world record attempt in 1994, which consumed at least 200 of them!

Best wishes,

Nigel

Hello Nigel

Not a lot I can offer.

It comes in a white box,
The bar code is 4 001883 033358
Another reference on the box 64 962 Rm 0493 sr
There is no instruction manual
The serial number on the loco is E3221312 silver.

It will be going to a new home with a man who has bought quite a lot from me

Kind regards
