I am a big fan of bedding tracks and possess a wide range of brands including Tillig's TT Bettungleis. I much prefer using the latter German word as the American English translation doesn't resonate as well. The British English term 'ready ballasted' seems to have fallen into disuse.
Anyway, I have been thinking about the possibility of converting one half of Marklin 24640 to DC operation so that my Trix trains can crossover my Marklin tracks. I am well aware of differences in Track Codes - 90 versus 83 and AC versus DC but as there will not be any dual operation, and perhaps rig up some kind of transition tracks on the Trix side of the alignment, could such a trackpiece be possible?
Any thoughts, please?

Below a link to a German blog by a gentleman running his Maerklin C track layout in dual mode, i.e. "AC three-rail" and "DC two-rail". A pictorial description shows how he dealt with the switch diamonds. This might be helpful for converting a crossing, too. http://www.michael-rober....de/unterpreuschwitz.htm |
