Hi All I have now had a chance to use the automatic coupler on the shunting Croc a bit more and a fault has developed. The uncoupler uncouples correctly but then the system seems to rely on gravity to return to the normal coupling position after an uncoupling operation. One coupler now appears to defy gravity and stays in the raised position. Thus making it useless for further coupling operations. How can I fix this, what do you think about a little drop of oil, or should I send it back to Marklin ? Tim

Tim, I wouldn't recommend to oil it as oil is a conductive substance, on thing you could do is investigate it carefully by ascertain if the coupler is moving freely without any interference from a current or it could be to tight around its side pins. is this electric coupler on both sides and is it happening on both sides ? and if not see if you find any abnormalities with the 2 couplers ? one benefit you do have, you're not far away from Germany to send it back to Märklin, if it still under warranty I would'nt make any adjustments unless the are invisible otherwise you may loose your warranty regardless whether the fault was there in the first place. Companies always try to get out of warranty issue if they can find an excuse.

Hi Tim The way the new coupler works I think will not be helped by oil. I am afraid you have to return the Croc for repair Cheers Jean |
