Hi all,

I have this Railcar which I love by the way, but it's a bit lonely and I'd like to pull a couple of small maintenance wagons behind it.

It has a coupling pocket but it sits a lot lower than others so if I put a coupling in of course it won't hook up.

I see the variation 39971 that comes with a cable-wagon and it shows a connecting bar to hook it up. What I really want however is a clip in Relex coupler designed for the low-riding coupling pocket to raise the height to normal.

Has anyone done this? The exploded view for both locos shows only the coupling pocket, but not any connector.

Is it a standard part that can be purchased or would I have to go the angled bar path for the other model? See images below which should make it clear.

Thanks in advance

Cookee

I half read your post.. Blushing Yes you can buy the fixed drawbar as a spare part.. I posted the number on here some time ago.. If no one else can find it.. I will look for the part sometime this week and get the number..

I don't think that the relex coupler idea is possible unless you can 3D print something.

UPDATE: The drawbar part number is 192906

Hi Cookee,

The drawbar which comes with 39971 is E138134 (pack of 2). E192906 is an electric coupling which is not suitable in this case.

Hi,

Surely you can remove the electrical parts. But I don't see how that should solve the problem. The fixed draw-bar should be the simplest way.

Ebay seller "mobadapter" manufactures a large range of 3-D-printed coupler adapters for Marklin, HAG, etc. Who knows, either he already has something that might fit or perhaps he could make it on demand: https://www.ebay.de/sch/...p;_trksid=p2047675.l2562 The guy is very pleasant to deal with.

Hi Cookee

I have also this railcar which I love.
Of course if you can order those parts it is great.
What I did on mine is to take a Märklin close coupling and remove the buckle and its S shaped pre-decoupling device
Then I bent the coupling head upward by approx 20°

On the wagon to hook I bent downwards the coupling head by 20° and also made sure the buckle would go down enough to catch the "up-facing" coupler and checking that the part to raise the buckle is not too low and catching on "Puckos"

The result is this

So it looks like a little "bricolage" but is costs nothing, can be decoupled and is very discreet
Cheers

Jean
