Connecting 438 7035 signal bell

There are two cords on the bell; is it enough to plug them into two sockets on 5145 contact track ?
Is 5145 90 mm long ?

Thank you

No, that wouldn't workWink

The yellow wire goes into the yellow jack of the transformer, the black wire in one of the jacks of the contact track.
That should do it

To test the "Glocke" , simply connect the yellow to the transformer yellow jack, and the blacl one to the brown

Have fun

Thank you so much.
Let me summarize if I understood well:
Yellow is under 16 V Constant Power for Lighting.
Black cord is plugged to one of jacks on 5145 track.
The circuit is open, the bell does not ring.
When the train passes 5145 track the circuit is closed on 0 = (Zero Potential) = Layout Ground .
The bell rings as long as the train is on 5145 track.

Hi Ivan,

You need two 5145 contact track pieces. Here is a sketch on how everything should be connected:

SCN_0001.jpg

The connection to 0 on the one 5145 piece is not really required because somewhere else in your track system the brown 0 wire is connected to the power source. The black wire of your bell is connected to the isolated section between the two 5145 pieces (note: you must align the notches on the track bed so that the gap in the rail is on the same side!). When an axle goes over the isolated section it connects the isolated rail to the rail on the other side which is connected to 0. Thus the circuit is completed and the bell will sound.

Of course the yellow wire of the bell is connected to the L terminal of your power source.

Sorry for the rough sketch. I hope this makes sense to you.

Harold.

Thanks Harold.
Perfect drawing of notches and gaps, exactly what I see in 5145.

Excuse my ignorance but I see no purpose of two 5145 tracks except for longer contact with train passing and thus longer ringing.
They are not always sold as sets of two but as single pieces, meaning they can work as such, i.e. single.

Or if placed on both sides of railroad crossing the bell would ring with train approaching from both directions,

You need two pieces in order to create an isolated section between the gap cut in the rail. The isolated section can be extended by 5115 or 5116. The 5145 was sold in pairs. See the links.

Unfortunately an instruction sheet is not available on the Marklin site for the M track, but look at the K version 2295

Harold.
