Hello all, I just received the class 08 loco (39242). It is a very nice locomotive but one feature I was looking forward to is red tail lights. In the printed brochure it shows them. I am not sure if it is prototypical or not but I was looking forward to the "bling". Needless to say my new loco has no red tail light function.

So my question is - Does anyone know if this is a function on the final product or is mine defective?

I understand that the brochures are usually hand built samples for the photo shoot so the red tail lights might have been deleted in the final product for consumers if it was not prototypical.

Thanks

Rick

Hi!
The symbols in the product database indicate white headlights, but do not show red taillights. The description only mentions white headlights.

On the prototype, they probably attached red glasses to the lights when needed. While the product photos show a loco with red taillights, there no other indicators that the model would have them.
Handmade samples, details can be different, blablabla...
Regards
Tom

[Have a look at the clip. At about 9:32 it clearly show white rear lights. Red would have been a nice touch. Still waiting for mine Bored

You know for the price of the 39242 it is not possible to have all the bells and whistles LOL

But it's Christmas & I want it all Blink. Seriously I think a pinprick of red food colouring carefully applied to each tail light lens from outside would do the trick. The same way we used to dip the globe ends to get red / green for traffic lights instead of paying silly prices for green & red specific globes. Ok my Two cents worth. To all on the forum from me & the boys Downunder, have a merry Christmas & prosperous 2019. ThumpUp

In the database there is a picture of the rear of the tender with red lights!
I will be able to examine mine after Santa has been.

Yes, hand-made sample. Better don't expect red rear lights with the series model.
