Hi Marklin friends,

I recently acquired a Marklin 1 Gauge collection... the trains were from a family that bought them I believe in Switzerland, a few of the cars had Swiss markings on them. One train is non-Marklin and made by a Swiss manufacturer, I am still researching its origin. The cars did not need much restoration work but I made a few luggage pieces for the Pullman coach and attempted to make a figure. I made a video of some of the pieces in the collection:

I still have more to share, including the loco, and other cars but I hope you enjoy this first peek.

Best

Paul

PS. The video has no audio and try not to get dizzy!

Hi Paul,

Nice trains - I take it that you are looking for ID on the Refrigerator wagon? If so you might like to look at this site here:

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your comment - I was able to identify the refrigerator car actually as it is Marklin. The other Swiss car I coincidentally found on the site that you linked. It's made by the manufacturer "Ha el Zet" and is stamped as such on the underside of the car. It's Gauge 1 and resembles Marklin... I will post photos of that car soon..

Best,

Paul

Paul - Nice way to demo some fantastic looking 1 Gauge pieces. Looking forward to seeing more. I'm fairly confident that your restoration talents are better than your animation skills. ha ha. Flapper Thanks for sharing.

BTW - Is that round orange accessory some form of luggage or is your passenger going to eat an entire parmesan cheese wheel for lunch ? Scared

Kurt

Haha thank you all for the comments.

Kurt - when I made that I thought the same, is this a luggage piece (maybe a hat box) or a cheese wheel? I've decided it's a cheese wheel! With one of my finer brushes I will write some cheese-related words on it BigGrin

With a REALLY small brush you may etch "Parmigiano-Reggiano" atop the wheel. My trains are German, but my cheeses are Italian...Drool
