I am more aligned with the dinosaurs! I use a wire mouse. I prefer the simplicity and I can live with the spaghetti

Using a wireless mouse I presume there is a socket on the CS3 to plug in a thingy. (terminology aint good at my age but I presume you know what I mean. lol

I'd be apt to use a wired mouse for the reliability (no battery to worry about) assuming there is a flat surface that the mouse can be on right next to the CS.

Hi Anders,

I use a small wired laptop mouse (those you can buy for travelling so they don’t take up much room) to my CS3.

I find wired mouse more reliable.

For configuration processes I consider an external keyboard and mouse essential.
The mouse should have a scroll wheel
A wireless solution works fine for me.

For the CS3 , "control" (rather configuration) becomes a bit of a coin-toss compared to the CS2.
while the scroll wheel helps with the zoom and scroll, I find the the CS3s need for "swipe" left, right , up, down is tedious to replicate.
And because I have my hands near the unit for throttle and lokocard usage, it is a lesser evil (less movements) to use the touch screen for function activation rather than find the mouse. That said I would still use the CS2 in preference to the CS3 for tactile operation.

Hello Goofy

.... you try Confused to use???

I use always a wireless optical Logitech mouse too. Needs only a very small button into the CS 3 USB socket. If sometimes I need more USB ports than I add an USB distributor and it is working fine.

For me Logitech are the best ones. They are easy in handling and need only very little power. Also you can get it with a feel good fine comfortable surface, for some € more.

regards

This does seem strange as surely it is not as good as everything else.

However well done Goofy and I hope you have lots of fun with the CS3.

Hi,

I am using the Logitech M185 wireless mouse in RED. It has a very small form factor and uses a nano-size USB stick. A friend of mine is using the same and we are both very happy with the mouse. It perfectly fits to the CS3.

Kind regards
Jörg

I agree with you!
My Logitech M705 was already bought for a year ago for the computer but did find out my Apple trackpad are more advanced.
M185 or M220 are good choice for the CS3. ThumpUp

That is interesting Peter and based on your many helpful posts, I trust your opinion. BigGrin

In what way do you think that the interface is better in the CS2 than the CS3? I have a CS2 which I am quite happy with and have hesitated to upgrade to a CS3. My CS2 does everything that I really need and if the CS3 has UI issues I would prefer to wait until they are sorted out. Cool

I was ready to buy a CS3 right up until they updated the CS2 to control all 32 functions. An ethical move on Märklin's part which cost them a sale, at least in the short term. BigGrin

When I build my next layout though I will want all of the enhanced functionality and will almost certainly upgrade to a 60216.
Regards,
Jim

I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time.
