Seems a slim offering this Fall, but I do like the weathered container set and the 'Rottweil' loco shed.
Don't look back, your not heading that way.

I must say I haven't seen any "must have" in this selection, though I do like the Br24 with the long tender. It looks like my pension will go a bit further than I thought...BigGrin

And as there was only ever one br24 with the 4 axle tender, should I get this one as well ??? Confused

This is the all-new model as of 2008, so I suppose it's completely different. Only the prototype is the same. Probably can be excused on that basis!

Märklin will bring a real BR 44 to the Märklineum at the "Tag der offenen Tür". I think it is very likely that this will be the loc surprise for 2018:

ha ha translation glitch ! On page 12, front and back sides have been mistranslated as "Front page" and "Back page" ("Seite" can be page or side)

Rule #1 in translation work is to have a native speaker check the translation!

There is a error in fall brochure.

Brochure wrote 'heavy Oil tank car.'

Nothing for me. Had a little doubt abut the BR 24, but I still two locomotives on order, so I will save the money for the surprise locomotive and/or the 2019 items. The BR 44 1315 could be the surprise model. Maybe with smoke from the cylinders. But until now the surprise model was always a very special one, like S2/6 and the SNCF loc from last year. I'm sure a BR 44 will appear as a new item in 2019. Maybe the 1315 as the insider model and other versions later. We will wait and see.

Nothing for me, but thats not bad. I echo other views that saving money for some later 2019+ purchase is a good thing. Every announcement cannot have something for everyone, so I'm happy with what was announced, even though there isn't something I'd buy.
The Eckartshausen-Ilshofen station would be interesting in H0, but its only in Z. (it would be a good stand-in for the Bahnhof Neuhof (kr. Fulda) or at least a basis to do kit bashing from)

I would have loved to see either the SBB Cargo or Hupac Vectron added to the selection. Here was a chance for Maerklin to beat all the other manufacturers to the gate with the Hupac lok, but they seem to have missed the opportunity.

A nice set of Hupac cars (Sgnss) with Rinnen, Den Hartogh, SAE containers and a Sgmmrs with Mainsped trailer would have been a dream come true...
Oh well, there are always more Neuheiten to come.

Hi, i found the brochure interesting.
The 232 version seems very interesting, since it is absolutely out of my focused eras, i shall pass waiting for this to be implemented in some era III diesel.
The BR24 is a must have. The new tooling is very nice and i must say that i am very happy with them. Having all the versions of the previous tooling, the one with the big tender must come.

That BR24 is also the first time Marklin have released it in era 3a livery too.

That new Rottweil lokschuppen is a great addition.

Well I do like the BR 01 Christmas loc. If this is going to be a new thing with Marklin coming out with a different one every few years, looks like I will be buying them. I do like the tree and the music. Also probably get the Swiss brown croc since I don’t have one yet in that color or a “ smart “ one yet with sound and such.

Fall 2018 on Marklin database.

There is more after such as surprise, MHI dealer, and other weather locomotives.

If Marklin announced-

Surprise Loco - At Marklin days.

MHI dealer locomotive - Early October (MHI loco every two years), I have year 2006 39009 BR01 Blue.

Possible Marklin to do weathered locomotives/rolling stock if not sell well - Q4.

Today I received a web-news mail from Märklin containing this link:

https://www.maerklin.de/de/produkte/neuheiten/

Aaaahhh and as so often - difference between the German and English version of the website.

In the German version is a special link named: "Produktdatenbank HNH 2018".

(HNH = Herbst-Neu-Heit)

Hello,

Since BR 24-061 was paired with the BR 50 tender in Göttingen (where I lived for a year as kid), I really have no choice but to purchase the lok. She will be my third BR24. The Rottwiel Lok shed is also interesting.

Hello rrrrrrf,

I have mercy with you twice.

First that you had to live in Goeppingen - it must have been a really dreadful boaring time.Flapper

Second you have to buy now your third BR 24 - what a pitty! Love

But seriously: I think you get a very nice loco with a not daily design and view for a good price - steam in the chimney and 2 people for the cockpit (or which word are you using in the US for the drivers box?) included. Even if you already got 2 models of the BR 24 - not a bad buying.BigGrin

TEEWolf, he indicated he lived in Göttingen, a bit city in north-central Germany, north of Kassel, not Göppingen, down in Baden Würtemberg near Stuttgart. ;)

Not quite as bad as confusing Oakland (in the US state of California) with Auckland (much further west and south) - as someone did at an airport in the 1980's.

Thank you Minok - this was a complete misreading of myself - sorry.

The bad thing is, living in Göttingen/Niedersachsen (North of Germany) - of course I do know this town or city (Göttingen has ca. 120 thousands inhabitants) - is even worst than Göppingen (57 thousands inhabitants). It is really not a worth living city compared to Göppingen, although it is a very well know railway hub for switching all kinds of trains, because it is an ICE stop, 100 km before Hannover/Niedersachsen.

Wheras Göppingen is in Baden-Württemberg (South of GermanyCool), got MÄRKLIN inside Love and you always can catch a S-Bahn to Stuttgart or drown your sorrows with a nice glass of good wine from the region. Göttingen has nothing at all.BigGrin

Yes, Göttingen is a lovely University city that escaped bombing during the war, so the old city center and wall mostly still exist. Hanging around the Institute for Physical Chemistry with Dad as a 10 year old was pretty cool. Also Göttingen was an IC city on the Hamburg to München line, so there was a lot of good train spotting including my favorite BR 103's.

The only thing that could have made that year better was being local to the Märklin factory. But as Minok points out, it's a good 400ish km further southWink

Yeah, I don't know Göttingen from having visited it in all my years in Germany, but know of it from having taken the train through it in the 1980's from Hamburg Hbf to Bebra.
The most exposure I have to Göttingen as a name is because in Bebra, where the rail comes from the south (from Fulda), it splits off into 3 different directions: 1 is via the Berliner Kurve ( which wasn't much used in the 1970's and 80's because the trains heading east into what was the DDR then, had to stop in Bebra and change locomotives and do other border crossing prep), 2 is along the Fulda toward Kassel Wilhelmshöhe and Kassel (back then it was not the ICE stop it is now) and the 3) the main rail line on the north-south route (1970's and early 80's) did a 180 degree turn as it exited Bebra to continue on to the north toward Göttingen and on to Hamburg.

That big 180 degree curve all of the InterCity and other north-south traffic must take, is locally called "der Göttinger Bogen" (the Gottingen bend (curve)). That and the incomming trains I was sometimes waiting on to board to head south toward Frankfurt a.m via Fulda, indicated they were coming from Göttingen on the platform signage. That and my grandparents house, where I spent many summers, was 3-4 houses away from the Göttinger Bogen, so I got lots of trains passing by in my youth (which lead me to this hobby, go figure)

This was exactly what I was hoping for - a small new fall offering with nothing that I want to buy! Cool

I have enough on order right now anyway and this makes it pretty easy for me to pass on the new items. I will save my money and hope for more interesting offerings from Märklin for next year. BigGrin

I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
