Does the CS 3 or 3 plus have outputs with which you can run AC digital and analog system?
Thanks.

Marklin Central Stations and Mobile Stations is for running digitale only.

An analogue loco can run on digitale layout but will not be controlled and only run at full speed.

A digitale loco can run on analogue, with limited functions and be controlled.

If you wish to have both on your layout you will need to have 2 seperate isolated circuits. 1 circuit powered with CS only and one circuit powered with a Marklin transformer 0-16 VAC. Do not mix the two circuits and ensure good isolations.

NO - a CS 3 does not have an output for running a analogue system, only a digital one.

@Danlake described the system. Another possibility only would be, you do not make a layout parallel. One in digital and and one analogue. You use one layout either in digital or analogue and switch between both typs of power. But it remains for the power connection as @Danlake described. A CS 3 for digital and a transformer for analogue. But if you use your layout analogue, you never use your digital turnout decoders while you are in the analogue mode. This may destroy them.

Why to run analog system if you have digital system?

Some folks have some analogue locos left. Converting a huge analogue collection takes a lot of time and money (not everybody sells the whole collection twice or thrice per year to start from scratch with a new system).
Some digital controllers allow operation of a single analogue DC loco on a digital layout (but not the CS3), so the initial question makes sense.

Tom

It is generally not a great idea. You risk destroying the motor.

My recommendation (and what I do myself): If you are going digital and have a collection of analogue locos. Convert them over time. It can be fun projects to do and you spread your investment over a period of time. If you want to run your analogue models, create a true analogue circuit for them to run on. When all your models eventually are converted you can feed the digital signal into the analogue circuit. Or keep it, if you are going to run digital locos analogue, make sure to get the safety transformer.
