I am looking at a Marklin Tristan locomotive that seems to be at a reasonable price. There is no product number just the locomotive says Tristan on it. The seller says it runs but has no lights or box. My research came up with a product number of 37975 which says it has lights that work on digital or analog systems. The locomotive itself has a narrow tall stack and there are hatches on the tender. Am I looking at the right product number or is it a different one? Considering that it comes without a box it may be part of a set originally. Thanks in advance - Fred

Hi,

Märklin also offered a TRISTAN as part of the KÖNIG LUDWIG - train. The number of the set was 2680 (digital) and 2880 (AC). The locos have lights. But in these days the lights of the digital version do not operate when the loco is run with AC.

Regards

Markus

Hi, the 37975 is "Orlando di Lasso". AFAIR "Tristan" came only in the Kõnig Ludwig set. Märklin 37977 "Sauerlach" looks pretty like Tristan.
