Does anyone know if it's possible to get replacement stakes for Marklin stake cars?

I have several examples of different models of stake cars in my collections, and annoyingly many of them are missing at least one stake!

Any comments welcome!

A few years ago I bought stakes for an eBay purchase that came without any.
It was somewhat expensive. I don't remember if I git the spare part number from Märklin or found it on a forum.

Hi Ray,

It would help to know the cars exactly. The stakes for the two axle stake car which was sold in various versions in the last years are available as E426110 (brown).

I brought some from Eckert Engineering some time back but I do not have a part number. Originally I saw it offered on eBay but perhaps you can send him a email.

Stakes in German is Rungen. There are at least two auctions for Rungen (parts) on ebay.de. Perhaps in this case, two Rungen will make a right?

The wagons I'm missing stakes on are from the 00778 set (similar to 4867) and from the 28501 set (similar to 4506)

Ray,

Until you find the right replacements you could make some temporary replacements out of sheet aluminum. I happened to have a nice big sheet of thin stock I have been snipping away at for years but I think an aluminum can would probably work, doubled over if necessary (cans are thinner than ever these days). A pair of good tinsnips and some black spray paint and you are in business. Use a screwdriver to bang a slight groove down the center line and they will be very stiff. Worked for me. I never see the right replacements. They look fine rolling down the track from a couple feet away and one day I may find the right thing.

Mike
