There are also some new items posted on the Swiss arwico.ch site, including additional new models of the Ae 4/7 type locomotive and the already announced RBe 4/4 (540) and coaches.

Hi everyone,

Excuse my lack of german language skills, but what does the test/measurement wagon in the front of the catalogue do?

The incline measurement seems useful, but is the rest relevant as a layout construction tool, or really more of just playing around with speeds and whatnot?

Maybe I haven't been closely watching Piko, but a great catalogue otherwise! They seem to be a rare brand producing italian models for AC...

The new Piko decoders support 45 functions in the function mapping (according to the catalogue).

I guess these are still ESU decoders, and I would expect to see 45 functions with ESU decoders, ECoS, and LokProgrammer soon.
29 functions per loco are enough IMHO, but NMRA DCC supports 16383 functions per address AFAIK, so there is room for expansion beyond 45 ...

Tom

...or they could be Uhlenbrock. PIKO seem to have found a renewed love for Uhlenbrock rebranded products. Like the Smartcontrol Light system, which seems to be a redesigned Daisy II.

That being said, I too expect to see an upgrade of the LokPilot and LokSound decoders. An overhaul is overdue.

This began a few years ago when they started using crippled ESU V4 M4 decoders for their sound locos.
Sound is good, but decoders are locked against sound updates.

See. A few years ago I bought Piko. I really like them. Runs very smooth C-track. Not optimal that the decoders are locked but I can live with that. Thanks.

I like Piko rolling stock - the ones I have purchased have a solid feel like Maerklin.

I agree, I've quite a few Piko tank cars that I've added the last couple of years, I'm very impressed

I have an analogue Piko locomotive and it is EXCELLENT! ThumpUp

This loco was given to me for my birthday in Italy, just after I had decided to stick to Marklin only. Once I saw this beauty, I changed my mind. BigGrin

Agree and looking forward to their new MFX locos. 52823 diesel will be a great start.

These are NOT 2018 items, but seemed the easiest topis to put them in.

Just received an email from Modellbahn Walter Licht about a sale of Piko items.

Wechelstrom Items (2 pages)

Gleichstrom Items (5 pages)

I know that some here like Piko stuff, so there might be some interesting items to browse.
