When I unpacked a group of cars that had been stored for several years, two of the ten exhibited a phenomenon I have never seen before: The car bottoms had "frozen" in the form seen in the photo, and when I tried very gently to test the flexibility of one, it broke in two. The cars will have to become spare part items. Has anybody seem anything similar, I wonder? Jeroen |

Thanks Lasse, for pointing me to historical predecessors.
Those posts are from the time span I more or less ignored this hobby. I was unaware of the problem; never seen it in any other of the ~150 similar cars I own …

Yeah, its a shame. The quality of the metal used in the zinc based casting of the warped lower section of the car can result in crystallization (if I remember the term right) and deformation over time. |

So there really are some genuine Marklin haters out there. I agree with you Torbjorn. I would do the same thing under these circumstances. Please note, not following shipping instructs is Something that happens here in NZ. I told some of my suppliers that if they paid peanuts, they got monkeys. I was threatened with all sorts of bullshit but I never bought of them again. I do my best to maintain a high standard of integrity. After all, I sell products to my customers so I expect my suppliers to treat me like THEIR customer. Dereck Edited by user 11 February 2018 06:47:41(UTC)
