“Twas the night before Christmas”

Inspired by 'Twas the night before Christmas. By Clement Clarke Moore

Please note: Okay it may not rhyme or reason but it’s the season for a little treason!

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all hell broke loose
Now creatures were stirring, even the mouse;
The Marklin Insider Club members stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that Florian Sieber would soon bring them their
Marklin C-track Wide Electric Double Slip Switch W/Lantern;

The Marklin Insider Club members were nestled all snug on their computers,
While visions of the Marklin C-track Wide Electric Double Slip Switch W/Lantern danced in their heads;
And Saxonia in her 'kerchief, and Adler in his cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's chat on the forums,

When on the computer there arose such a banter,
Adler sprang from the chair to see what was the matter.
Away to another computer Adler flew in a flash,
Then turned on the monitor and saw it was a new post.

There on the newly laid carpet with the C track on top
Shows the glow of the midday scenery below,
When, what to his wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature train, and eight tiny engines,

With a little young train driver, so lively and quick,
He knew in a moment it must be Florian Sieber.
More rapid than Roco his train they moved,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, Alco! now, BR 216! now, LINT and Vectron!
On, EMD! on Gattung! on, Reihe Ub and Serie 1200!
To the top of the station! to the top of the yard!
Now speed up! Speed up! speed up all!"

As the train wheels on the C track clicked,
When they meet at a turnout, diverging into the wye,
So up to the spur-track the train they drew,
With the train full of toys, and Florian Sieber too.

And then, in a sparkling, I heard on the carpet
The letting off of steam and hissing of each little cylinder.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down on the carpet Florian Sieber came with a bound.

He was dressed all in white, from his head to his feet ,
And his clothes were all tailored with Marklin’s tags and logo’s;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his Marklin sack.

His eyes -- how they shimmered and his teeth shined very bright!
His cheeks were like wind deflectors, his nose like a plow!
His cute little mouth was ajar up and open like a door,
And having no beard his chin was as white as the snow;

The wooden ties of a curved track he held tight in his teeth,
And the track it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a slim face and a tight little belly,
That didn't shake, when he laughed like a youthful fellow.

He was slim and fit, a right jolly young elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had no forebodings;

He spoke not a word, but had a toke, eh Canada!
And filled all the stockings; then turned the hoe,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, into the carpet he rode;

He sprang to his train and he gave his team a whistle,
And away they all went leaving only the sound of a flying missile.
But I heard him shout, as he drove out of light,
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

HO, HO,HO,
maybe in 2018!
