I have set up two circles of track (5922 - 600mm and 5935 - 1020mm radius) for the Christmas tree. Normally we don't screw down the track, but last year or the year before the track kept sliding across the wooden floor. So this year FD wants it screwed into the floor.

The first problem is that the 600mm curves have screw holes, but the 1020 do not. So how do others attach the 1020mm radius track?

The second question is the size of screws for the 600mm track.. I can't see them listed the the 2008/09 catalogue...

Maybe a bit random but would the track hold with a few dabs of hot-glue each section or two?

Save any drilling and screwing and when done just lift up and peel off

You can either drill a hole in the centre of the sleeper, or at either end of the sleepers. Space the screws about 6 to 10 sleepers apart.

I use M4 bronze screws, 12mm to 16mm should be fine.

Hope your floor isn't anything special to mind putting screws in the floor!

Hi,

If it must not last years, I made good experience with using small pads of double-sided adhesive tape. The removable version. Fast, simple and cheap.

Regards

Markus

Cool

I'll vote for the double sided tape also; but otherwise the same screws you use for C-track.

Now it's the hole in the sleepers you have to drill in the right size.

Per.

Cool

In the end, I decided to not fix the track to the floor. There are many reasons for this - could not find any M4 screws or enough double sided tape. However, they are on the shopping list for Christmas 2018. Smile

Here is a very short video of the Maxi Trains under the tree.

The layout is powered by one Marklin 6021, which is powered by a Markin 6002 transformer. The Maxi locomotives are Delta, but they seem to run okay.

The inner track shows the loco "Luzie" pulling two Markin Museum Wagons.

The outer track shows the loco 98 7505 pulling three tipper wagons and a flat car with a container.
