I need help, as I must be missing something obvious...[8)]

Lower arm of cross span 74132 is approx. 77mm off the ground
when installed over provided slider base.
Lower arm of standard 74101 mast is approx. 83mm off the ground,
which creates 6mm difference in height when connecting cross span
to a standalone mast. [:0][:0][:0]

What's wrong and where is Mr. Blanding when I need one?biggrin
Mike, confused.

Hi Mike,
it seems due to the difference between the K and C track.
The 74132 is for standard tracks, you must heighten it 6 mm. to use with C track.
There is the 70012 catenary installation jig which can help you.

Replace the bases of the masts with Viessmann 4189 mast bases. This lowers the masts to match 74132.

Another thing to watch for is to avoid this problem. Several non-marklin passenger cars I have cannot make it past several spots on my layout. Specificaly, a catenary mast on the inside of a R1 curve.[xx(] You almost have to have this with a curved switch under catenary.[:p] (Especially in tunnels as here)

Notice that the side of the car is against the mast, and the wheels (in forground) have derailed.[xx(] I only have a couple of Roco 1:100 cars that do not have problems and are not Marklin. All my Marklin cars make it past this point with no problems.

You don't have this problem with Sommerfeldt catenary because of the placement guide that comes with the catenary masts, which determines the "drill hole" for the mast. Plus, Sommerfeldt has a variety of masts that are proptotypically correct and allow you to do build arm supports that extend beyond the location that is required by the simpler Marklin catenary.
