I recently bought this wagon from a UK source because I liked the machinery load. The vendor didn't know the origin of the wagon but it looked very nice.
It is entirely cast metal, has fine detail, black metal AC wheel sets and is an SNCF model.
The load may or may not be original but appears very old and is some form of plastic. It was glued to the floor of the wagon and was easily removed as the glue was well and truly dried out.
I looks a bit like SMCF or VB but apart from the painted numbers underneath it has no name.
I would really like to know if the load is original and what the machines were originally because I can make a new milling table for the milling machine but I don't know what the other machine is, and it has a piece broken off the front, leaving a thin sharp edge.
Any help would be appreciated for a. origin of the wagon and b. is the load original ( or what each piece looked like when new).

Some photos.

The wagon itself looks like a weathered version of this one: http://www.rarelocos.com...duct.php?id_product=3649

Hi Stefan and thanks.
I agree it is probably that wagon, so it appears the machinery items were added by a user.
Pity as I will probably never find out what the machines looked like when new, but it means I can make something up!
Regards,
Howard.

Hi Howard,

A SMCF catalogue which contains the car can be seen here: http://www.train-jouet.c.../_SMCF-1956/SMCF1956.htm

Hello Howard,
The wagon is a mystery to me however, The broken machine is an industrial size Radial Arm Drill Press.

Hi Mikey,
You have hit the nail on the head. It is a radial arm drill press with a dovetail column riser on the model instead of the round column on your photo.
Thanks very much, now to have a go at making a part.
Regards,
Howard.

Hi Howard,

The machines seems to come from WIAD, but I'm not 100% sure. Unfortunately the 1965 catalogue only shows the box of the set.

Hi and thanks for the effort Markus.
I have the basic idea what the machines are now so I can make an effort to "restomod" them to use an American auto term.
Regards,
Howard.

On the other hand, the broken one might be on its way to the scrap yard ... must have been some accident to break that arm Laugh Laugh Laugh

This is my take on the machinery. Now loaded on a low wagon instead of the SMCF wagon.
Thanks for the input . (I would like to achieve better closeups.)
Regards,
Howard.

Well, that looks like an eminently suitably refurbished set of machinery on its way back from the refurbishing shop.

Very nicely done. ThumpUp ThumpUp ThumpUp

Thanks. Now that I look at the photos the colour appears blue but in fact it is machinery grey.
Best I look at my lighting also.

Ah, so the same problem as photos of the 39531 ET194 that came out late last year ... see discussion over here.
