I tried registering the Marklin Loco 36082 with DCC protocol. wasnt working. Tried with MM2 protocol, didnt work either?? Wasnt able to run or operate any functions..
Am I doing anything wrong here? Or is 36082 meant only for Mfx?
Thanks Vijay

No. Märklin H0 locos only support DCC when they forget to disable it at the factory. mfx gets the highest priority with Märklin decoders. As long as the decoder sees mfx on the track (i.e. mfx is enabled in your controller), it will not respond to DCC or MM. Is this another case of an mfx loco not registering automatically? Disable mfx in the controller and give DCC and MM another try. MM should work now, but it could also be DCC ... |

Here is what happened, I chose "ONLY" MM2 Protocol (and not the Mfx, MM2, DCC option under Loco protocols). I agree with you and have experienced the Marklin locos automatically registering with Mfx. But what I wanted to do was to check if the Loco would register with MM2 (ONLY) or not.. It did not... However, in the past when I had issues with Mfx locos not registering automatically I have selected MM2 protocol and run the locos. I wanted to do the same with 36082, but realized it isnt happening that way...

It should work if you set the MM address manually. Address detection for MM locos is not reliable. With MS2 it fails often if locos have LEDs for lights, especially with white LEDs. |

"Model: The locomotive has an mfx digital decoder and extensive sound functions. It also has a special motor with a flywheel. 4 axles power. Traction tires. The triple headlights and dual red marker lights change over with the direction of travel, will work in conventional operation, and can be controlled digitally. The headlights at Locomotive End 2 and 1 can be turned on/off separately in digital operation. When the headlights are off at both ends of the locomotive, the double “A” light is on at both ends. The cab lighting can be controlled separately in digital operation. Maintenance- free warm white and red LEDs are used for the lighting. The locomotive has current-conducting couplers that can be controlled digitally. The locomotive has a representation of the cab interior. A locomotive figure is included."
