Hello All,

Does anyone have the color code for several paint companies of the Orange color, that is used on the orange Eurofima coaches?

Would prefer spray paint aerosol cans.

Would like to do some touch up and painting on my SBB train set.

Thanks.
Walter

You are referring to the C1 (Eurofima) colours from the late 1970s. As far as models, the offerings from Maerklin, Roco and other companies had slight variances in the colour, both in the orange and in the colour of the stripe that ran down the coach sides. To provide the right colour, can you let us know whether you want to touch up Maerklin, Roco or other (Liliput, Kleinbahn, Lima, etc) coaches?

The actual colour for the C1 Scheme was called Reinorange (Pure Orange). I believe that this is RAL 2004.

As I stated, there is variation between models and between brands. If you want to touch up a Maerklin coach, you can always open up the coach and use a little of the paint on the inside to match and blend if required. The Roco model (and some of the other ones) were not moulded in orange and are not painted on the inside.

Mike C,
Thanks for your email.
The cars in question are the Marklin ones in orange botom, white stripe and orange top.
I would like to repaint these as the original orange bottom with the all white top.
Those were the ones I remember seeing in my youth.
I am also doing a loco RE4/4 as well with the correct orange bottom and top with a white stripe in the middle.

Hence the reason for a spray/aerosol canned paint.

Thanks.
Walter

Those are not the same type of coaches. The Maerklin ones are the Eurofima class Am first class coaches and the ones you describe are the EWIII Swiss Express coaches.
There were models of the Swiss Express from Liliput. Some can still be found on ebay from time to time:

Liliput:
883 Set of 3 coaches late 1980s/early 1990s (no close coupling)
885 Set of 5 coaches (1975-1985) (no close coupling)
https://www.ricardo.ch/k...-5-teilig/v/an816725648/
These sets and the separate 88450/88550/88650 and 88750 coaches are on ebay from time to time.
What makes these coaches interesting is that they have an integrated banking system which tilts the coaches on curves.

Liliput (Bachmann) (with close coupling):
Set of 4 coaches late 1990s
Individual coaches (AD (first class with baggage), A, B, Bt (Pilot)

The AD and Bt coaches are frequently available on ebay.de or ebay.co.uk
The A and B are a little harder to find, with the B being the hardest as most modellers want more than one.
I have seen the set of 4 on ebay.de or ricardo.ch from time to time.

Here is a photo of the Swiss Express: https://upload.wikimedia...ssexpress4199-PetarM.jpg

Here is a photo of the Eurofima Am: http://www.drehscheibe-o...oren/read.php?31,7251405

The locomotive for the Swiss Express was available from Hag, Lima and Rivarossi and more recently from Roco (AC 69842 or 68690)

Roco had a coach of the earlier design EWII series painted in the Swiss Express colours (45313). I have seen this model listed at some Swiss dealers. I guess that you could make up a consist if you can't find the Liliput ones: http://www.roundhouse.ch...Roco-HO/Roco_45313-M.jpg
