Hey guysjust looking at a marklin 3008 from the 60s or so and noticed it looked very very very similar to my fleischmann 1361. The cabs, tenders, and little red plastic buffers all appear from the same factory. Did M and F use each others parts?
LOLOLOL they are just toys, grow up and play with them.

I know several Fleischmann items that were/are sold in Märklin boxes.
I don't know about Märklin items being sold in Fleischmann boxes.

With respect to 3008 and 1361: those were the standards those days - same prototype, same look. The Fleischmann loco has a plastic boiler.
I don't think they have parts in common.

Tom

It would make sense that two models of the same locomotive design would have very similar features. That said, I don't think that there was any cooperation between Maerklin, Fleischmann and Trix before the 1970s at the earliest. Since then, there have been a few models where Maerklin has released an AC version of a Fleischmann DC model. This remained rather rare and Fleischmann eventually started releasing their own AC models in the 1980s. Since then, Maerklin cooperated more frequently with Trix and eventually took over that company. There were a number of new models in the 1990s that were developed by the Trix and Maerklin Engineering Departments and then released in both DC (Trix) and AC (Maerklin) versions.

I think that if you compared a Maerklin, Fleischmann, Roco and Lima BR 103, you would also find some elements that looked the same.

Surely if Marklin and Fleischmann make a model of the same loco everything should be the same apart from plastic or metal used for body. They have both been making models for a long time. They did make a turntable in a combined effort back in 80s or 90s. I have yet to see one up for sale. Take care EddieCool Cool Huh Huh
