The answer seems obvious (should be a negative one) ... but I really want to ask anyway, and learn from your experiences. My BR18 Marklin 37116 is equipped with the 7164 pick up shoe. It is very reliable, very steady and has never - ever made any current interruption. It is just PERFECT. My other loco though, the P10 Marklin 37938 is factory equipped with the E206 379 pick up shoe. This shoe is quite different in shape, it is not steady (when the loco is on the move) which means that the ends of the shoe move (very slightly) up and down. Most importantly though, this shoe is more vulnerable when the track is not 100% clean. If it is clean, there is no problem at all and the loco can run at extremely low speed with no problem. BUT if there is a hint of dirt, then I have current interruptions .... and I have to slightly push the loco to make contact again. The question is ... are those pick up shoes interchangeable? I would really love to change the P10's shoe with a BR18's one. Kind Regards Paris

Joined: 16/02/2004(UTC) Posts: 15,441 Location: DE-NW		Hi, Paris, The P 10 has a E206 370 slider according to the spare parts list. This one is only slightly different from the 7164. It could be that the spare parts list is outdated and that a slider E138 079 was used instead. This one looks quite different, but can easily be replaced with E206 370. It should be possible to swap the sliding shoes between them. I don't think this will solve your problem. Better check that the sliding show is straight and that the springs that push it down have the correct tension.
