Dear All.

I am very new on our hobby and so far I only have two wonderful steamers (the Marklin 37938 P10 Borsig Edition 1 and the Marklin 37116 Württemberg Class C).

I start to plan my next purchase so I need your opinion and help choosing my next steamer.

My short list (to choose from) would be:
a) the Württemberg class K – maybe the Marklin 37048 or
b) the Bavarian G5/5 – Marklin 39550 or
c) wait for the Marklin 37588 class G12 – Borsig Edition 4 – which technically must be the same as the 37589 Insider model for 2013.

Your opinion would be of great value to me on some technical issues (especially if you have those steamers and you are able to compare their performance). Any issues that should tip the balance in favor of one or the other of my candidates? For example having both 37938 and 37116 I can say that my 37116 is considerably more silent than my 37938 - due to its different motor.

So … which one would you buy??? The 37048, the 39550 or the 37588???

I know that the best answer would be … buy them all … but I try to be realistic (and not be send to exile by my wife BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin )

Best Regards

Hi Paris,

My vote goes for the Württemberg class K 37048. I don't have this loco, but I have 37059 Würt. K and 37054 DRG BR 59. Great looking loco, superb build quality, very good running charasteristics, quiet motor, good sounds. It has everything you need! Love

Cheers,
Janne

Hello Paris

I agree with Janne.

I have the Wurttemburg K Class. It is well built, has an excellent gear box and motor combination (like the Wurttemburg C Class, and it runs very well.

Regards
Geoff
