guys - sorry for a very basic question. what type of marklin plug does the k83 decoder use ? is it the type 100 ? thanks

The k83 came in two forms - the 6083 and the 60830 - the only real difference was the plug/socket type
Old = 2.5mm. New = 1.6mm with protective guides

Your image is of a 6083.

Marklins range of plugs for this was the 713x (x=1,2,3,4,5,7 for different colours)
These ceased to be produced by Marklin in 2000

The 7130 "Assortment of Plugs and Sockets" continued to be available until 2002

you are after the 2.5mm ones not the 1.6mm ones

Viessmann also produce the 2.5mm ones, don't have the catalogue numbers handy, but should be easily found on the various shops websites.

It is old style plug for 6083 K83, Dropping from marklin in 2004.

Plenty found on ebay. >LINK<
