Nothing about the new decoder 3 in the new locomotives?
I suppose Märklin must first change the work toy,to fix better placement for the new speaker generation decoder 3?
Maybe next Nurnberg messe 2016 will shows up that? |

The speakers they ship with separate decoders are not the speakers they install into locos. No need to change the speaker location. Customers will tell us which decoders they find in their locomotives. Is the new decoder ready for mfx+? |

Hello, AFAIK the new Insider 18.5 39030 and the Br50 with tender cab 37835 have the Gen 3 decoder. You can easily recognize them because these are the only decoder with mfx+ and DCC protocole. rgds Stephan

Since DCC is not documented in the product database for those locos, you cannot easily tell this before the locos are available. And then we still have to wait until someone buys them and tries DCC. |

Hello Tom, the DCC funcionality is clearly readable in the manual of the 18.5 39030 you can download from the Märklin Webpage (as far as you are an insider)  For the 37835 are already existing experiences in stummi forum which are confirming the DCC funcionality despite of the non mention of it in the manual. rgds Stephan

Most of the heavy lifting is done in the cs2.

We were told at the Treff that no locos will be shipped with new decoders until next year, so any loco available between now and Christmas will not have them. I would expect that locos fitted with the v3 decoders will be annotated as such in the 2016 new Items brochure, with an icon in the same way that mfx and mfx+ fitted locos are marked now, at least for 2016, and porobably 2017, or some other time when the decoders are classed as 'cheap enough' to totally replace the existing decoder lines, which I expect will continue on in 36xxx series and bottom end 37xxx locos for quite some time.

The new generation decoder is more advanced than the old and better.
Märklin will do present new locomotives with the new decoder 2016. |

Hello, Märklin never noted the decoder generations in any brochure till yet. Only the funcionality. Even further, they distinguished the after market prduct mSD/mLD clearly from the serial equipment. They never mentioned, that serial locos were equipped with mSD/mLD decoders even if the hardware was the same. So I do not see any reason why they should start now. rgds Stephan
