Dear Community: I would like to know the most parsimonious way to connect a CS2 to my home network with WiFi. I currently have it hooked up (temporarily) to the network using an electrical-plug based ethernet line. I would like to know if there is an inexpensive dongle that would allow me to hook it up directly to my WiFi network.

Note: the solution I have is a pretty good one, as one needs to plug the CS2 into power. This, however, occupies two of the power-line ethernet devices, and have just a single device would be preferable.--MM

What's the problem?
You can use one power-line LAN adapter with a switch in your train room to connect CS2, laptop, other devices with just one power-line LAN device.
A simple switch will probably be cheaper than a WLAN adapter for the CS2.

I have used one of these to connect my video PVR to my wifi. It would be an ideal style of device for what you want to do.

Another alternative would be a device like this which is a self powered version of the Netgear one above. The Netgear one in the first link has an external power adapter, or can be powered from a USB port. The one in the second link is NOT a power line network adapter (the one shown has a UK power connector on it, but I am sure you could find one at your local amazon with a local power connector).

HI Micheal, I recently connected my CS2 to my home wifi network with a Netgear WNCE 2001 universal wifi adapter. Advantage of this device it is small and easy to connect to the CS2 and your own wifi network. Regards Rob
