I showed here how to implement a Märklin mSD Sounddecoder and a buffer capacitor into the Märklin BR 185 (36850).

Now, i wanted to replace the standard head lights with warm white ones including low beam, high beam and rear light. The mSD has 6 AUX ports, so enough to connect all these functions.

There are light boards from other manufacturers but the price is always high. Therefore, I decided to buy the original Märklin part E190372 which is already equipped with the red rear light LEDs and ready to solder the high beam LEDs. And it is very cheap with 6€ per part.

To solder the high beam LEDs was very difficult, because the solder points are made for small SMD LEDs from type 0402. I had only 0603 available, which are bigger but doesn't fit well onto the solder points.

The mtc-21 adaptor board has solder points for LV, LR and AUX1-AUX4 and for decoder (+):
