Hi everyone,

I recently because the proud owner of an ESU ECOS, purchased in 2006 by the prior owner. It looks and works great, although he had done a lot of programming on it. I'd like to rest the thing to factory new, and start with a clean slate but I can't figure out how to do so. Does anyone know how? I tried a few resets I thought would do the job, but all the prior loco lists etc... are still in there.

Advice is appreciated- thanks!

I forgot to mention- I found the "reset unit to factory settings" tab in the general settings menu, but the "reset" button is shaded grey and won't let me select it?

Thanks!

John another way is reset CV 8 to 8 that does the trick. But just in case make a backup.
He may have locked the reset to factory settings tab. just forgotten how. I think it is a menu item

I presume you do not have the manual. You can download it from esu.eu.

The Reset: first click on the key icon to allow the factory reset, then go to the main page and actually do the reset.
This prevents accidental resets.

Manuals can be found here:
http://www.esu.eu/en/dow...manuals/digital-systems/
I'd get the ECoS 50200 manual.

Which software version do you have? The latest release is 4.0.0 (much faster than the 3.x versions).

The dialogue screen with the greyed button:

The dialogue screen where you can allow the factory reset:
