And therein lies their conundrum. Many of their traditional customer-base probably feel the same way, can't see the need for it.

Yet for a younger generation, perhaps those finding about the hobby for the first time, they cannot imagine a world without social-media and Märklin have to be relevant and accessible to them also (even more-so)

I just hope they use the medium in a manner that is suitable and tailored to the primary demographic of users, rather than playing lip-service to it and appearing like they are attending someone else's high school reunion.

I read that once in a review of the premier of the new Star Trek (OS) movie - the reviewer had not grown up with Star Trek and just didn't get the concept, the idea and much of the subtle humour - while they said it was visually enjoyable, the audience reaction (plenty of trekkies no doubt) left them feeling "like they were attending someone else's high school reunion"

I've never forgotten the analogy, it was a very very good description (being there, but not belonging)
