Hi guys:
Some day ago I adquired a 3045 box by eBay because my older 3045's box is in very bad condition. My box is a 3047 box from 1966 renamed 3045 and the "new" box is a 3027 from 1962 renamed 3045. I suspect this box could be "fake" because the 3045 was produced beetween 1967-1968 , and the 3027 box were renamed 3047 in this first version.
I need some feedback about this question, the seller say that is orginal but I don`t believe him.
Best regards.

The stickers are not original in my view.

In my experience Marklin did produce a unique 3045 box but they also used the 3047 and re-badged the box 3045 with sticky label. The copy boxes are all the 3047 re- badged version. The only 3027 box I have seen has the cardboard insert and not the polystyrene insert. If your box has the cardboard insert and a label over the box number then I would say its a copy. Bearing in mind the 3047 would have been one of their biggest selling loco and I doubt if Marklin would have run out boxes and reverted to the older box. Can you post a photo. Roger

Hi Roger, There is no painted box special for 3045. The pictures which can be found on the web are "photoshopped" within the last decade. Both, 3047 and 3045 have been also delivered in relabeled 3027 boxes. Here is a good example how the sticker should look like when original glued to the box since nearly 50 years: Regards Markus

3045 box original is in the right side, and the "almost fake" is the left box. The numbers print in the tag aren`t alligned and the tag look suspiciously new.

Yes, It is correct. The '3045' on centre of label are original. The '3045' about 3mm above the centre on label are fake. |
