Hi

Just opened my 3050 for cleaning / oiling, two small pieces of yellow paper fell out, I guess these are for protecting from shortcuts but where are they supposed to sit ?

They shouldn't be there at all, my 3050 doesn't have bits of paper inside it.

Amirya, David is right in saying 3050 has no paper in it. However if it is a later model like #3338 etc. then they had it located at front & rear of the loco which was equipped with two headlights at each end & came into play when the prototypical R/H single rear light display was activated. It was used to block out showing two lights to the rear & just sat covering one side of the light diffuser. My two cents worth.

Hi,

My explanation: Someone changed the decals of the coat of arms and forgot the remaining papers inside the body. That paper has a yellow shading. Is the loco still named BERN?

Some models #3050 had a piece of paper that was positioned above the motor block and prevented the motor block from coming into contact with the metal strip that was attached to the pantograph screws. I got mine in 1971 at Franz Carl Weber and it had the piece of paper installed at delivery.
My impression was that this piece was not part of the regular assembly, but may have been added to specific models after a problem was noticed during assembly/testing.
