based on the thread here https://www.marklin-user...ault.aspx?g=posts&t=3003 I took a look at one nice usa located euro store out of curiousity and I was wondering if $20.29usd+shipping (from northeast usa) would be reasonable for 24611&24612 turnouts?

also 24922 C-K track adapter for $7.45usd+shipping too?

I was wondering about using C tracks for the siding but then quickly convert it into K tracks at both ends for reason of it being cheaper.

don't get me wrong but I thought that I would like to use C tracks at the siding even if its going cost a bit more per piece because so I can easily refit hidden remote decouplers and possible turnout decoders as well when I have the cash for these. then for the K tracks outside the siding area, I have some woodland scenics trackbed that should make the trains run quiet at high speed on the "mainline" (heres a picture of the package of which I already own one here: http://www.woodlandscenics.com/images/st1474b.jpg )

In the product database on the Märklin site,
http://www.maerklin.de/produkte/pdb/index.php
you can find that a 24611 has a recommended retail price of 16.20 euros. So 20.29 usd may not be too expensive, though you may possibly find cheaper sources.

You will get a 24611 for around 12.50 euros from lok shop. Depends really where you think you can get the best service.

Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.
