Hello,

On the occasion of the season, photos of an impressive newly-built large multi-level analogue M-track wintertime layout. It is a double-track mainline with a four-track shadow station plus a single-track dog bone branch line with three separate analogue circuits for "pure" running of trains; consequently no station whatsoever. There are neither measures nor track plan given, however, the track layout can be derived from the initial photos of the construction phase. In the description, I counted nine turnouts (mostly manual) and two signals; S-curves incorporate a piece of straight track. Photo links:

an exceptional well designed layout, I have noticed large fir trees higher up the mountain and I made a rule not to use them that high up, it sometimes ruins the perspective and doesn't allow the mountain to show its illusion of height, by using them and by gradually decreasing the height from bottom to top it becomes surprisingly more pleasing to the eye.

In the meantime, the gent has torn down the layout. Recently, he started a new M-track 250 x 300 cm U-shape layout (not wintertime-themed).

I love the simplicity. Between the basic track plan and the lack of digital he will have less headaches in a year of running then I do in a weekend...

Red crocodile: You mean the avatar of the builder "Redwest" in the forum "Alter Modellbahnen"? I have no idea.

Nice to see the "old school" bank of analogue controllers. You don't see that very often nowadays!

Very nice and interesting.
It does take a lot of room to build a practical HO layout.
I see that everyone had the same idea and using the same timber as me to build their tables.
Would be interesting to see the thing running and how complex and practical the layout is.
