Just bought an N scale layout the utilizes 2 Arnold Digital Control 80, an Arnold Digital central unit N, several Arnold Transformers, an Arnold booster and about 20 Arnold track switches.

I'm looking for manuals in English for the above devises, or a website with information on them. The layout did come with manuals, and several catalogs, but they are all in German and are in nice shape, anyone interested?

Also looking for some engines that would work with these controllers.

Can analogue engines be run on this set up, and if so could you explain the settings. Would like to have 1 engine running on it by Christmas which might be a tall order.
As the controllers are set now, if I set an analogue engine on the tack and turn the controller on, the light inside the engine will turn on, and the motor will buzz, but the engine will not move. The engine is a known good analogue engine.

Located in Pennsylvania, USA

Thank You in advance
Richard

Confused

I've started working on this, have all the switches working, most of the lights, but no idea of what is going on with the DCC.

I've called 2 dealers who have no interest in helping me unless I purchase the products from them which I probably would purchase other related product, but have no interest in purchasing a product with such little support.

Since I've had no replies I started tearing the system apart and basically discovered what probably a lot of you probably already know, apparently Arnold is the same as Marklin, or Marklin made the product for Arnold?

Anyway the Controllers are Marklin 6035, The Arnold central unit N is a Marklin 86028, The Arnold booster is a Marklin 6015, the transformers are Marklin 6001

Any help with getting information would be greatly appreciated. I would be willing to purchase any instruction manuals or copies of.

I have no DCC engines for this, and would love to know what I have to do to get an analog engine to run on it before the 28th.

Will continue to look for more information, Just found and ordered a book from Marklin. Hope it's what I'm looking for.

Thanks again for replying to my post.

Installing a DCC decoder in the loco is the best way - and AFAIK the only way possible with that controller (the loco will then no longer be an analogue engine, but it will run).

Recent locos will have a decoder socket (probably NEM 651) and installing the decoder should be plug and play.
The Arnold device AFAIK has only limited programming capabilities and if the loco does not run smooth you cannot adjust that with the Arnold device.

If the loco has no decoder socket then soldering will be required.

Tom

All the packages wrapped and I decided to mess with this. I did discover that if I enter 80, then FUNCTION, and then GO, an analog engine will run, but will not change direction. At least it's a start and I can make sure all the track and switches are working correctly until I can buy some engines and figure out the controllers.
