I shall try to buy one color light signals and test it. So i have few questions... 1.Is it good to prepare in the keyboard with signal icons before to start programming? 2.Why is there no signals icons in the MS2?? 3.Brake modes in the new lightsignals??(not sure if it works in both MM and DCC protocol) |

The following is regarding the 763xx range of signals, I cannot comment on the, as yet unavailable, 764xx Originally Posted by: Goofy 1.Is it good to prepare in the keyboard with signal icons before to start programming?
a) Prepare the keyboard = YES b) .. with signal icons = MAYBE Historically it has been possible to encounter a "situation" if you set up a 3 aspect icon or 2 address mast (that transmits two commands in quick succession) whereby the timing may cause disruption. A 2 aspect (single address) icon does not have this issue of course. Most importantly in the keyboard preparation (even if you do not change the icon) is the setting of the "Switching Time" to 1000ms When you do select an icon make sure you select the "Profi-..." range not the traditional ones These two points are depicted in the latest (Jan2013) version of the manual. The manual shows the steps up to pressing the icon (once or twice as applicable) - following that you need to a) Press Stop b) Remove the programming clip c) return the "Switching Time" to a more realistic 200ms Quote: 2.Why is there no signals icons in the MS2??
There are 2 aspects to the statement/question a) any "Why" would have to be directed to Marklin designers - I can't answer b) however the MS2 IS capable of displaying relevant icons (for both Turnouts and Signals - Still lacking are the Turntable icons ) when it is used with a CS2 Quote: 3.Brake modes in the new lightsignals??(not sure if it works in both MM and DCC protocol)
To the best of my knowledge "Brake modes" for the 763xx's are limited to "Dead Go/Nogo" options. i.e. there is no "Braking" slow deceleration option Until the 769xx items hit the street all we have is the marketing catalog to go by. |

What i know myself is that Viessmanns multiplex has brake modes. A good point about Multiplex signals is that you can buy a new signal to connect decoder, while Marklins you are forcement to buy all signal with decoder. But Marklins signals has soft change lighting effect which makes more realistic. Let´s see when Marklins new signals arrived out in the market. |
