Hey all,

I'm desperately trying to compose a set of Roco FS Italian "Gran Confort" coaches in their original livery with the "Television" logo. They appear to have offered this set twice in the past dozen years or so, however I can't for the life of me figure out the part numbers for a whole train. Does anyone have old Roco catalogues they can help out with? Even more confusing is the fact they have done a near identical set twice with different logos. Here is my starting point:

Set 1:
45643 Salon Coach 1cl
45642 Coach 1cl
Missing part number for the others

Set 2:
45635 Dining Car
45630 1cl Coach
Missing part numbers for the others

Does anyone have a catalogue where they can grab the part numbers for the rest of the sets? A sample coach can be found here:

Thanks!

I have several catalogs from the early 2000s. I will check with models are listed.

One question though... When you say original livery, do you mean the TEE livery (TEE Mediolanum, TEE Lemano) or do you mean the later Gran Comfort livery of the 1980s?

Gieffeci is the distributor for Roco in Italy. They have a number of items produced only for the Italian market and there were also the International Collection Models that Roco marketed in the early 2000s.

In the meantime, here is the most comprehensive list of the available Gran Comfort coaches that I know of:

Thanks Mike! To correct you are right- I mean the earlier FS-specific livery of grey and tan, but with the "televisore" logo

That list is a great help! It looks like most came in 2004/2005, although its missing the dining and other coaches there. So if you have a 2004 and 2005 catalogue that should hopefully solve the mystery

I am pretty sure I have the 2003 and 2005 catalogs. I will look through them and see if I can find the info for you.
I don't have any Gieffeci catalogs/flyers since 2000. If anybody has the 2004 or 2005 Gieffeci Roco brochures, hopefully they can check as well.

Thanks Mike! A friend in Italy said they were regular line, so should be in the normal catalog. Zero rush on this by the way. Much appreciated!

The catalogs that I found here are 2001 and 2004. I cannot find the 2003 and 2005 ones at the moment.

I will keep looking.

Here is the relevant page from the 2004-2005 catalog from Lokshop: http://catalog.lokshop.d...04-2005/D/image_178.html

This might help also: http://www.modellismofer...ario.it/files/2009_2.pdf

More: http://www.modellismofer...ario.it/files/2006_3.PDF

I was not able to confirm that Gieffeci offered any of these models as a set, but it is possible.

As far as I can solve your request, the model numbers would be as follows:

Bandiera Livery with red stripe and "TV" logo
Salon Coach (2004)
45426 International (Catalog)
45426.1 Italy Gieffeci or International Collection
Compartment Coach (2005)
45630 International (Catalog)
45630.1 Italy Gieffeci or International Collection
Restaurant (2007)
45635 International (Catalog)
45635.1 Italy Gieffeci

Additional production (2007):
45642 Compartment
45643 Salon
45644 WR

They also released other models in other years with different FS logos, including the inclined logo: http://www.miol.it/stagniweb/ill5/lorg80.gif
and the XMPR logo http://www.userlogos.org...fstrbstrtstr/logoFS.jpg, but still in the Bandiera livery.
The matching second class coaches would be those available from Lima, Rivarossi and ACME, which are based on the UIC-Z (Eurofima) design.
Those coaches were originally delivered in a matching livery, but with a blue stripe instead of the red stripe on the first class and restaurant coaches.
See here: http://gamos81.altervist...g/Italia/Carrozze/Z1.htm

Mike,

Thanks for the info! It appears they must not have been offered as a set (or all cars at once) when new. I'll have to start piecing things together then. Dealers in Italy seem to have decent stock on these so hopefully 1-2 of them can cover a full set

thanks!

Hi everyone- closing the book on a 7 year old thread! (and an 8 year search!)

Today I finally completed a set of these coaches, which I couldn't be happier to own. Talk about quite the search! In the end I kept finding nothing, or a single car here and there, usually in europe with massive shipping costs so I would pass as 1-2 cars per year at $90-100 with shipping made no sense to me.

In the end I guess the time worked out the same, but last fall I found a mixed set. The right cars, but various logos from across eras, and only 4 cars in total. Finally, the whole consist showed up in Australia on ebay. I now have a prototypical 6 car train as follows, which I share here for reference as it is a prototype check for mix of car type, adn all the roco numbers accordingly:

1 x 45426 salon car (no compartment)
1 x 45635 Dining car
2 x 45642 Salon car (with compartment)
1 x 45630 Salon car (with compartment)
1 x 45630.1 Salon car (with compartment) The ".1" is an italian market-only version, with different road number to the regular 45630

Now, if I can just find some time to run and photograph them soon. Work has me putting in excessive hours as of late Cursing

Some photographs would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance. ThumpUp

I have almost no time for my trains right now either and there are a few things that really need to be done.

Oh well, I can't complain about being busy when so many people are bored, trapped or out of work here in the US.
Regards,
Jim

I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time.
