I am attempting a Central Station 60212 Update with 120980 Hardware Kit.
I can not get CS1 to recognize Hardware.
Wondering if I'm doing something wrong?
These are the steps I have done:
with unit off, Remove Batteries Plug in & Power ON Assure "Request IP address through DHCP server" is Checked Unplug Install New Hardware Plug in Network Cable Plug in & Power ON Wait 5 Minuets Still shows OLD Hardware and Software
What am I doing wrong?
Please Help...

So whatever you have doesn't seem to be something you can upgrade yourself. Marklin issued a v2.0 hardware / software upgrade for the CS1, but the unit had to be returned to the Marklin factory for the upgrade to be performed. Does your CS1 have the red v2.0 sticker fixed underneath the unit? There is the CS1 Reloaded ESU update, but the only hardware included in that update is a new power supply. If indeed you are trying to fit the v2.0 upgrade CS1 upgrade, there is also a software upgrade that goes with it, which may explain why your new hardware is not detected. What software version are you running? If you are trying to fit the v2.0 upgrade, then you would be best to send your CS1 back to Marklin USA for them to perform the upgrade, as they have all the tools and knowledge as to how this should be done.

Hi! Originally Posted by: chevalier4 Still shows OLD Hardware and Software Which software version does it show? As David said, AFAIK the CS1 had to be returned to Märklin to get version 2.0.3 installed. Unless maybe you got a special CD or something with the software upgrade. |

Thanks for your input...
I am at:
Hardware V 1.1 Software V 1.6.134
I believe I need 2.0.3 Software and Location to place file.
When I boot up while hooked to computer via network I can tell it's looking for something, and it's not 2.0.4. So ether a file name and/or location which is unknown.
Spoke with M Service Germany and trying to get software or the possibility of sending in.
If anyone has experience doing a CS1 Update themselves, Please Contact Me.
Thanks

I doubt there will be anyone, as the units were always meant to be sent back to Marklin for this work to be done. Therefore you will be very hard pressed to find anyone who has performed this upgrade.

Well, if you have version 2.0.3 on the CS1, you can easily upgrade to version 2.0.4 (as described in the manual). And version 2.0.4 can still be downloaded from the Märklin site. But how do you upgrade from version 1.6.4? I haven't heard of anybody doing that himself. |
