I have bought 6 6083 k83 decoder for my layout (my first digital layout). What are 1.5 kohm resistors used for?. I have never seen these in the instructions.Confused

Hi!
They can be used to supply power to stop sections of signals so that old decoders (6080, 6090, Delta) do not forget in which direction they were going.
Should be no problem with newer decoders.

If the old decoders are without power for several minutes (stopped at a red signal), they will start in the forward direction. So no need for resistors if you run all your locos in forward direction or only have newer decoders.

Thank you Tom, all my lok decoders are ESU 4.0 decoders so I should have no problems.Cool
