I remembered i had seen new tooling S 3/6 & BR 18.4 pictures in the catalog of TRIX.
It impressioned me with the highly and amazingly detailed and exclusively released by TRIX.
With plastic bodyshell and tender driving it was apparently different from conventional MARKLIN styles but finally I have never seen the models appeared in the shops of dealers.

Where was the model ? why trix decided to abandon it ?

IIRC these are two of those models that were cancelled after they filed for insolvency (22041 was announced for Q2/2009).

I was waiting about that model too about Bayern 22041!!!
It did never become as model for customer...perhaps later when Marklin has changed mind about work toy.
It´s new tool and cost a lot of money.
But they should have done it anyway!

Confused

thanks for reply.

In addition to insolvency, I supposed if Trix violated the core principles of Marklin ~ No plastic bodyshell and tender driving........

I don't think so. The bay. S 3/6 was announced in the 2008 new items brochure along with an ICE 1 in 1:87 length scale and some other items.
Back then they already tried what they also do now: give the brand Trix an identity of its own (this year they try it with the return of Trix Fine Art models). The bay. S 3/6 is also available from Roco and MTH (or did they announce it only?), so I think these are also points not to return to the old plans.

Trix made a new BR 120, a new RAm, a completely new E 19.0, an ET 56 - and received a lot of bashing for those models. This bashing may have been a reason not to return to the old plans after the insolvency status.

Why not make tender-driven steam locos - and sell them as Trix AC? Why not make Märklin Hamo again?

Fleischmann concentrated their H0 assortment on old era I/II stuff. And now they come back with a new BR 141 in modern livery and a new BR 407. It seems that not all Fleischmann fans buy Roco (even if Roco uses the old Fleischmann moulds).

The German version of the 2008 Trix new items brochure can be found here:

thanks for the useful explanation.
I agree with you that Trix may consider to prevent new s 3/6 from competition of ROCO/FLEISHMANN at the same time at the same products, but it doesnt make sense to stop manufacturing the beauty as a result of spending much money to mold it. For this reason i assume someday in future they will reconsider to release the item.
