It’s limited 500 copies and will never be done by M directly, same ide like Roco special item 982-983-984 (150 copies) for their own club members. >> Dm3 976-977-978 << |

I don’t think that they will do their own version with the same number like 976-977-978.
Better to buy this item and wait for the second hand market of original release item 37753. |

The question I put to myself: Will Märklin do two versions of the middle section, the actual Dm3?
If you look closely at the photos of 37753 and 37754, you'll see that prototype photos of the Swedish engine on page 127 of the New Items brochure and compare it to that of the shop, then you'll see two easily spotted differences. The delivery version had small air-intakes on the roof edges and spoke wheels. The 1200-series engineses (2nd series) have larger air-intakes and SAB wheels. The photos of 37753 on pages 128 and 129 clearly show the larger air-intake and the SAB wheels. If you look at the 37754, the NSB El 12 on pages 136 and 137, you'll see that the El12 model has the small air-intakes and spoke wheels.
This means that for producing the 37755, you can base it on 37754 but you'll also need the middle section with the smaller air-intake and spoke wheels.

Fascinating locos! The more the merrier I say! Why do we have to over-analyse everything? |

It has probably spoke wheels and small air intakes as the origin.
M has certainly made the made tools so you can do lots of change, when they should survive many years on this model.

It says "as it looked in 1960", so that's a commitment... There will be spoked wheels. Anything else is impossible. It changes the look of the loco quite dramatic and would be a deal-breaker for me and many more. (The SAB-wheels were introduced 1963.) I also guess it will have the smaller air intakes. Since, as you say, they have the 900-series in the norwegian model they just would have to change the "middle part". I don't think that's overly complicated (expensive). They also include a booklet about the train. Would be strange to have pictures in the booklet that don't look like the model. But most importantly, the shop is located in Luleå where the "home" of the loco is today. (Luleå is also the southern end-station of Malmbanan.) I can't imaging them accepting any compromises. But we'll have to wait and see. /Torbjörn

Hi!
I've been in contact with the shop. They say that the model will have spoked wheels and the smaller air intakes/vents.

As Jonas says it's the Mas 1950 and it's the "standard version". They can also be seen with different extensions on top that made the waggons higher and capable of taking greater loads. This type of waggon will be as good for the 37755 as it is for the 37753. I don't know about the lettering though...

Picture can be found here: http://www.samlingsportalen.se/Search for malmvagn to find some nice pictures of the Mas 1950. Type Dm3 for pictures of the loco mentioned in this thread. Type Dm and you'll find some pages with very nice black and white photos. /Torbjörn

Hi, Is there anywhere where I can see a picture of the 37755? Also, is it right that Norway used these family of engines so was the 1950's green version (3019?) a real colour scheme? Thank you!

NSB didn't have them. I'm pretty sure that Märklin created that version with a livery inspired by the green colour of German electric engines in order to increase sales in Germany. Moving over to the iron ore line engines, there SJ and NSB originally ordered two-unit engines. The Swedish ones given the brown "house" colours of SJ and the Norwegian in green livery. Some more information here.I don't think there is any picture of the 37755 yet. The store that have placed the order for this special series with Märklin shows a photo of the prototype:

I think so too! About the distance between the units, in the video it seems bigger because the model is in a curve. Despite this seems the Roco has the units closer. I don't know if it can run on 360 mm radius curves or needs a larger radius. At least the characteristics M announced for the model seem to be excellent!

Well this could well be a pre-production model. The 37753 is not due until Q4 2013. Plenty of time for people to tell ModellHobby Luleå that they are not happy!
new info posted on the 37755.
Difference between our 37755 Dm3 and Märklin 37753, see list below:
1. The loco will get the smaller air-intakes on all the 3 sections. 2. Spoked wheels in correct colorscheme. 3. Yellow/red identificationmarks. 4. Roadnumbers on the buffertbeams. 5. The sound for the locomotive is recorded from the original loco.
Pris i SEK: 4995.00 Kr
Pris i EURO: 587.65 €
(37753 Ditt pris i EURO efter rabatt: 555.90 € )

Anders don’t worry, we also know that this model is a demo ex Like this picture shows it will be the right ending light position Even if you are a truly Märklinist this model will never compares with Roco details |
