Yup you can force it into DCC mode. The ms2 is the same as the one that is available for trix (2rail DCC) just a different color.

Hello, All

It is really easy, press shift + setup, enter mobile station menu ,select loco protocol, and choose DCC. The same for accessory protocol.

I was surprised see to a mixed mode for locos mfx, dcc, mmII. I would try it but I don't want any of my mfx locos to get confused with that crazy two rail language LOL

I'm using DCC, mfx, and MM - and the only decoders that get confused in my experience are very old Lenz decoders (that came with old Roco locos, no cure) and not so old Uhlenbrock decoders (that came with not so old Roco and Piko locos, changing a few CVs will cure them).

Since two rail and three rail locos use the same decoders and the same motors, it's only logical to use the same controllers.

Two rail normally uses a lower track voltage (can be changed by using a different power supply), but the standard power supply should be OK for all H0 locomotives.

Tom

I use 2 rail Tillig Elite code 83 with MS2.
MS2 is perfect for smaller railway layout in both 2 and 3 rail system.
MS2 can been use for MM,mfx and DCC.
I use DCC and MS2 works perfect.
It controls 16 functions for locomotivs and 320 turnouts.
You can control and program all CV adresses with MS2.
Is there i did missed about MS2...?

I also sometimes use it for MFX, MM2 and DCC and it works great. The only thing I think it doesn't do (at least I never did with it) is reading CVs and full configuration from the DCC decoders. Anyway for it's price (in ebay.de) it is a very good controller.

Miguel

The MS2 can read CVs and allows full configuration of DCC decoders (CVs 1 through 1023).

I knew it can configure CVs, but didn't know it can also read. I will try it during the weekend.

One thing that is good is for the MS2 to "know" how many speed steps the loco is configured with, otherwise the acceleration and deccelaration is not smooth (and there maybe other problems, I think). So, one interesting thing is the MS2 read the decoder config and configures itself for the loco. Taking speed steps as an example, after reading the full configuration of the decoder, MS2 could be configured automatically for the correct number of speed steps for the specific loco. I think this is not possible, and I always configure manually the speed steps in MS2 for each DCC loco.

Best regards,
Miguel
